Shipping

Our shipping days are Mondays and Tuesdays, (Wednesdays) on occasion if you are local to our area and we are confident that your package will arrive before the weekend. We keep holidays in mind so if we are not able to ship on Monday and or Tuesday due to the weather or holiday, we will ship the following week and you have will received an email explaining so.

Once your order is shipped, you will receive a confirmation email with your tracking information. We ship plants USPS 3 day priority, UPS 3 day and 2 day air if need be. If your purchase includes nonperishable items AND plants, you will still need to ship priority. We will not ship separately or ship standard if your order includes plants. On rare occasions, shipping may take longer than expected once in the hands of the carrier.  As frustrating as it may be,  PLEASE understand that this is out of our control once the package is out of our possession. We will do whatever it takes to help in any way we can.

The risks of shipping live plants

Before shipping plants of our own, we have received hundreds of plants for ourselves and have learned what to do, what not to do and what works best. We take shipping very seriously as we want you to receive your order the way we would expect our own. Unfortunately, the shipping process is both unpredictable and can be stressful on perishable goods. As mentioned in our return policy, when purchasing from our store, you are agreeing that there is a risk of the following- yellowing of leaves, loss of leaves, broken stems, soil spillage, cold or heat damage without the purchase of our extra protection. With that being said, once the package leaves our possession, we are out of control with how the carrier treats the package and some traits with plants can make some minimal damage occur. Please note that small tears, knicks, sun burn, and marks are normal in a plants life cycle whether it was caused from wind, moisture, rain, or simply moving a plant around. These marks do not qualify as damage. Please keep this in mind.

Plants are known to sometimes be dramatic

If you are not new to the indoor gardening club, we know this. Some plants throw fits when you move them, when you don’t water them when they request a good drink, or if you repot them when they didn’t want to be repotted. Some plants just dont like being moved or shipped. This unfortunetly comes with some wilted leaves, yellowing of leaves, lost leaves etc. Give them time. Let them adjust to their new home and they will perk up and thrive just like the rest. For more information on care once your package has been received, please refer to our “So you received your new additions, now what?” Page.

Shipping plants in the winter months

Since most plants are tropical, shipping in the winter months can be tricky if not packaged properly. Squirrelly Foliage does ship through out the winter months but we strongly encourage you to purchase our Winter Shipping Assurance Package. We recommend any temperature below 33 degrees requires WSAP. This package includes heat packs, special packaging and we will watch the weather to see when it will be the best time to ship. If you do not purchase this package, your order will not contain any protection from the elements and we are not responsible for the condition your plants arrive. To have more understanding about our WSAP, we have a page dedicated for that.

Get excited!

All of our houseplants are affectionately tended to daily. We take great pride in growing and selling the plants we love to others in hopes it brings a smile on their faces the way it does ours. They are all in ambient home conditions and will acclimate quickly to your home as well. Some houseplants have very specific requirements and care needs that have to be met to thrive or even survive. Please reach out to us if you have care questions or research before your plant arrives so that you can properly care for it when it arrives. When purchasing plants online and having them shipped, there are specific recommendations that should be followed to ensure that your houseplant(s) recover quickly and start thriving like normal.

We ask that you DO NOT re-pot your plants before 30 days after receiving them. This is a BIG no no in acclimating a plant after being shipped. IF the plant somehow has uprooted out of its pot, gently place the plant back into the same pot with the same substrate without disturbing the roots.

If you do choose to re-pot your plant before 30 days after arrival, this will void any warranty or guarantee.
